The COA from the original artist is where the value is derived.
I think it's stupid. If you took a poll most of the world would thing it's stupid, but the $6m+ winning bid wasn't a single offer. Many people jumped in the fray to be the person who owned the right to say they can display banana+duct tape under the original artist's name.
