As an aside that's related to the artwork. The banana and tape are not the actual artwork, the rights to post the banana + duct tape and proper instructions for how to do it is what's actually being sold. It's quite similar to the NFT market, though not the same.
I'd like to see someone else tape a banana to a wall with duct tape, then hire a lawyer to challenge the "rights" the 6.2 mil buyer supposedly paid for.

How does one copyright or patent the taping of a banana, so as to obtain (and then sell) the rights to that exclusive privilege?
