Dated pennants and especially World Series pennants always seem to command a crazy-high premium. Certainly appears to have been the case here.

As for the significance of the creepy severed head.... no idea. Was it described in the auction's write-up? I forget who had that one... most likely REA, Hunts, Lelands or Mastro.
