I have a 1959 San Francisco Giants team signed ball. I am selling this for a friend who is terminally ill. I need some guidance on best place to sell this item. Pricing? Should I authenticate?

It's not a desperate situation, but he definitely wants to sell. I really want a fair price for both parties. Any advice would be welcomed.
