You quoted my post insinuating Red wasn't the longest. Didn't know we were still talking about cards. Reading it after the edit makes more sense now.
In the case of OFFICIAL topps releases (no weird off sets) I think from rookie to last official release I believe it's Frank Robinson.
1957 topps rookie to manager card in 2005 topps so 48 years.
I'm not sure about modern cards either, but a friend told me about that one of Frank. Also, Not sure about Tony but that could be if he has a recent release.
