Nothing special today. I have a couple baseball related Hartzell originals from his work with the Baltimore Sun. He was a cartoonist with the Sun from 1934 – 1979. He drew the first cartoon Oriole for the franchise in 1954. His Oriole was the model for MLB team’s mascot. His drawings and the ones I show you today were mounted on illustration board, photostated, and set up for publication. I believe the larger of the two sketches are Paul Richards (Manager) and Lee MacPhail (GM) during the early 1960s. The smaller one is a version of the Oriole “bird” with the stadium. I have a bunch of other ones from Hartzell but not baseball related if anyone collects these.
