Jackie Robinson was signed on April 10th, 1947 and debuted the next day in a well attended exhibition series against the Yankees at Ebbets Field. In Jackie’s first game as a Dodger he went hitless but led the team with 3 RBIs in a 14-6 win against the Yankees in front of 24, 237 fans.
The next day history was made in front of 24,353 fans. Jackie Robinson got his first hit as a Dodger. A single that knocked in the lone Dodger run of the game. They lost 8-1 with a young kid named Yogi Berra hitting a towering home run (see newspaper clipping below).
An April 11th pre-season debut sold for $4,446 last fall.
Edit: just noticed the back two pages (not back cover) are detached. Open to offers as well!
Attached below you will find associated newspaper clippings and scans of the program. It is fragile but can be opened carefully. I'm happy to exchange more photos or hop on a call to discuss.
