SGC or PSA for high value/rare cards?
I'd welcome and value some experienced advice from collectors here who have submitted very high value and rare cards ($50K and up) for grading from SGC or PSA.
My questions are:
- how are the submissions completed safely and securely? I would not put these cards in the mail, UPS or Fed Ex.
- I have messages into both companies about how the card security is ensured even once accepted at the company for grading. Any experience from collectors here?
- From a value standpoint, is there any hard evidence that PSA or SGC generates more value for cards that are exceptionally rare? I know there is a perception (and perhaps accurately) that PSA will generate higher sales value over SGC. But does that stand true for very high value cards also?
I am headed to the national later this week (don't worry - I am NOT bringing these cards with me!) to discuss these questions with reps from both SGC and PSA - but I appreciate hearing from members here ahead of the "sales pitch" i expect to get from the reps.
Thanks all
Jeff
