My mom was the diehard in the family, and had to endure so much disappointment, especially in 1967. She was a Boston Red Sox fan, and especially fond of Carl Yastrzemski. I still remember her shouting, "Come on, Yastrzemski; come on Yastrzemski!' every time he was up to bat. I, being only seven years old at the time, was naturally curious. So I asked her, "How come you keep calling that guy a stremski?"
