I had a professional printer print the photo collages he assisted with picking the paper stock. When I made the collage I placed a to scale digital image of the autograph in a box as I wanted it to appear in the final version. Then I merely cut out that box creating the space that would serve as a window for the actual autograph. I secured the autograph with archival tape that can be removed without damaging the autograph. I glued the corners of the Baxter board backing on the top two corners of the artwork. This permits me to remove the autograph without destroying the art if need be.

Baxter board is a thicker paper stock that illustrators use. It comes in various sizes. I’m unsure if it’s acid free so maybe I could have made a better choice? I didn’t use a mat cutter I only used a sharp arts and crafts blade and a steel ruler. I hope this helps.
