Default FS group of 8 1900s-1920s photos w/ HOFers - Reduced

For sale is a group of photos taken from the 1900s to 1920s. Most are later prints from the 1930s and 1940s. Hall of Famers Cap Anson and Roger Bresnahan are included. Most of these prints came from the collection of the Chicago Daily News and many of the images can still be seen in the Chicago History Museum's online image database (CHM) of the Chicago Daily News archives. Most of the image dates are the ones noted on the CHM website.

Price is $350 shipped for the entire lot.

Top Left: Fred Merkle - Brooklyn 1916-1917. This print the most likely of the group to be an original print from around the time the image was taken (Type 1 in PSA parlance) 6.5 x 8.5

Top 2nd from left - Roger Bresnahan - c. 1913 Chicago Cubs 1943 date stamp on back. This is a 1940s print off of a duplicate negative. (Type IV in PSA parlance) 6.5 x 8.5, Image can be seen in the CHM online database.

Top 2nd from right -Cap Anson in uniform 1908 while coaching Anson's Colts, editing is on, not in the image, print date and Type had to determine. in the CHM online database. 3.5 x 9

Top right - Nick Altrock - 1908, likely an early 1930s print. Baseball's clown prince. In CHM online database. 6.5 x 8.5.

Bottom left -Fred Merkle and Al Bridwell 1911. In the CHM online database. Indeterminate print year.

Botton 2nd from left - Fred Merkle 1925-1926. Henry Miller stamp on back. A print off of a duplicate negative. 6.76 x 7.5.

Botton 2nd from right - 6 x 8 Howard Ehmke 1923-1926. World Wide Photos print. 4 x 6.5.

Bottom right -Fred Merkle. 1908 Chicago Daily News stamp. Print from a duplicate negative. 8 x 10 in CHM online database.

The price reflects the condition of the photos and the fact that most are later and/or duplicate negative prints.
