Here is Alejandro Oms. He was one of the final 30 Negro Leaguers voted on for the Hall of Fame back in 2006. He didn't quite make it then, but it's certainly possible some day. Alejandro Oms, Oscar Charleston, and Pablo "Champion" Mesa formed the greatest outfield in Cuban League history on the 1923-24 Santa Clara team which they are pictured on in these cards. Oms was a career .336 hitter in 15 seasons in the American Negro Leagues, but he also dominated in his native Cuba, Venezuela, and anywhere else he went. He was a pure hitter.
