Yes, and also eerily reminiscent of 1939 Play Balls. In fact, the Gehringer appears to be the same image used in the set. The Teddy is a much-used image, and we've certainly seen the DiMaggio shot over the years as well.

They definitely appear more modern to me. Stock looks newer and thinner than what Burke used in the late 1930's and there appears to be a graininess issue with the clarity. Anything on the backs?

Perhaps early George Brace reprints? If player names are hand-printed at the tops on the back, I'll certainly recognize if they originated from Brace.
