The grading system is meant to be as objective a system as possible.
Most cards are all judged on the same basis, but when you bring
in other features like signatures, jersey cards, misprints, etc., then those are
going to be judged according to slightly different metrics. A card might be a
perfect PSA 10 but then a sloppy signature makes it only a PSA Auto 9. That's
because as soon as the autograph comes into play, it is now a different piece
of memorabilia and has different benchmarks to pass. I'd still opt for the grade
but not if I was really worried about the autograph on a specific card. Very
