Twenty five years ago I never would have thought baseball cards would gain so much as to be classified as an "investment". Times have changed.

Based on some quick searches, it looks like it is from March 1, 2007 which was well before the crash. So maybe Bramhall was ahead of the curve, predicting the upcoming bear market and recession! If anything it certainly would have seemed funnier at that time, since the market was doing well and baseball cards were seen as less mainstream than they are now.
