One of the enduringly quirky yet endearing elements about PSA is how they start off not recognizing variations, and then over time might start recognizing them. But only if they decide to recognize them. If they don't recognize it, then it might as well not exist.

As the owner of the #1 Mays registry, I'm pretty sure the answer here is that they just recently started recognizing the home jersey variation. So pieces that were previously graded won't have the new and improved variation labeling.

And if we're lucky, they might actually get to where they properly label the new ones. But don't hold your breath.

You probably need to petition PSA to either permit your cert to qualify for the slot, or to add a new slot based on the home jersey. Even once they start to clean up the slots, my experience is that they often still experience slot confusion, whereby they invert some of the variations when it comes to the slots, with obvious home jersey pieces somehow still qualifying for away jersey slots, and vice-versa.
