The glossy photo might have been used as a premium. Or it might have been sent by the Yankees in answer to requests for Mantle photos by fans. Or it could have been sent to press sources. The Yankees would send photos to news agencies of the players. Sometime, maybe around 1956 or 1957, the back would be stamped with the player's name, position, and "New York Yankees."
I have a couple of photos that use the Wingfield image. This one show the entire light standard on the left side along with most of the batting cage. It is glossy and does not have Mick's name on the photo. I don't know the source.

This photo is also glossy and has Mick's facsimile auto on the hip. I'm guessing that this is a premium for something. But again, this is just a guess and I'm not sure what it would be a premium for.
