Take it from a local, you'll be fine in and around Rosemont. Very safe. The portion of Chicago that borders Rosemont is the safest area in the city, home to Chicago police officers, firefighters and city workers. The other suburbs around Rosemont are very safe as well like Schiller Park, Norridge, Park Ridge, and Des Plaines. The only area I would worry about is the parking lot at the casino up the street located in Des Plaines. There are occasional muggings in the casino parking lot.
