I think part of why they don't get more interest is that there isn't a good catalog of them.
And that may be because they fin an odd loophole in the licensing. As I remember it, they wanted to do a full set, but couldn't get licensed for MLB but could for the minors.
But MLB only licensed sets with more than I think 6 players, so Star did each player individually.
And they did lots of "different" similar sets.

Eventually super glossy or not.
Press runs could be pretty low, or not.... but all the numbers I saw claimed were in dealers ads and may or may not have come direct from the company.
