I assume you can become a subject matter expert by talking or reading others peoples work. To help me and others learn more maybe it would be valuable to list certain individuals or sites/blogs/reference books etc.

In my world it's Rhett and Mark for Zeenuts/West Coast stuff, Wayne, Steve, and Tbob for E94's, Steve for all things Louisiana, I'm not a T206 guy but there's a half dozen plus serious guys here like Ted, Ryan, and Sonny to name a few whose knowledge about the set continues to amaze me. I'm forgetting lots of folks but that's off the top of my head. Of course Leon is the King of type collecting.
There's also a group who rarely post much but if you're lucky enough to tap into their generous knowledge it's amazing what they know, and what they have in their collections.
The most knowledgeable serious collectors can be found here which makes this such a special group of people that can't be found anywhere else.
