I know in both cases they were looking at matchups, but IMO Wheeler was rolling....the intentional HBP by Maldonado and the weak single up the middle by Peņa was all he gave up.

A friend of mine texted me when it happened and said "Blake Snell part 2" so you aren't the only one who thought that. Unfortunately, it's the way the game is managed these days, especially in the playoffs. Third time through the lineup, as soon as the starter gets into any trouble, time to bring in the bullpen with what is hoped to be a favorable match-up.
