It's abundantly clear that Boone has lost the clubhouse. The disconnect with him and the players was shown when he doubled down on Holmes being "Sore" and unable to close the game, only for Severino and Holmes himself to say, "We don't know why our closer wasn't brought in, in the ninth inning." They deserve to lose with the disgraceful way Boone has been managing.
