One of my favorite weird stat lines is Roy Thomas. Thomas was a superstar at getting to 1B, but not to other bases. Even by deadball standards his are weird.
He hit .290, on base of .413, leading the league in walks almost every year he played a full season. Only once did he ever get even 20 extra base hits, even though he primarily played at the Baker Bowl. His on base was eighty points higher than his slugging.
