Here's an example
Very rough cuts top and bottom, Not getting a nice grade bothered me at the time, because the cuts are factory, just rough because of a dull blade.
Looking back, and at how many people see every deviation from normal as evidence of alteration, I can see why they wouldn't want it in a slab with a number grade from a company image perspective. Still not happy a long time later but I understand.
Altered is vague, but some altering may take more than a word or two to explain, so with the slab/flip system it will have to do.
I tried briefly to design a slab that could hold both a flip and a certificate with a longer explanation like you get for stamps. Nothing that was workable was at all pleasing visually and most were bulky as well.
