Yes, that's right. Arlie Latham was credited with 129 steals in 1887. It wasn't good enough to lead the league, though; making him the most prolific bridesmaid in history. He fell nine short of the total put up by Hugh Nicol, a mark that has stood the test of time.
Latham's St. Louis Browns captured the AA Pennant that year, though. They outpaced Nicol's Cincinnati Red Stockings by 14 games.
