I asked the seller where he acquired the three 8 x 10's and he said they were in a pile of miscellaneous stuff as he was cleaning out his brother-in-law's house in Massachusetts.
The seller himself is not a baseball collector and he tried Googling the items to see if they had any value. When he didn't see anything come up about them, he nearly threw them away because he assumed they must be worthless. He decided to sell them on the theory of "you-never-know".
Thank God he didn't trash them.
