Brits were really good at keeping their cards in great condition. They were selling card protection supplies and custom card albums, decades before we were doing it regularly in the states.

Even the simple act of storing their complete sets in little wraps of wax paper, was way more then we were used to doing.

Maybe because back in the day it was usually adults who collected these sets and cards, just as they would collect stamps or coins, whereas it was mostly kids in the states, doing the collecting.....and the flipping....and the trading...with a few exceptions of course.
