I also found it interesting that, at the time, the third base coach didn't reach out to the hitter to shake hands on the home run trot. If that were typical, I now wonder when that became (almost) standard.

The third base coach can be seen greeting Bobby Thompson after his Shot Heard ‘Round the World in 1951, and ditto for Tommy Heinrich in game 1 of the 1949 World Series. Now whether or not that was standard by that time, you got me there.
