I remember that show as marking the beginning of the end of Hunt's ownership of the Philly Show when David tried to ban dealers who had the audacity to also want to set up at Marco's show. A number of great dealers said "****" you to that, and the Philly Show, in Valley Forge by then, became a shadow of its former self with Hunt selling out not long afterwards. I guess Marco couldn't make his alternative work, either, after a couple tries, but all the dealers applauded his efforts to do so, I think. If memory serves me correctly, Marco also took some unsuccessful shots to establish a New Jersey show. You always knew a Marco show would be well run and that he would do his best to get collectors out, and I seem to remember them all as being worthwhile for me. Perhaps not so much for him, but he was always fighting. His hobby legacy lives on in the terrific Chantilly and Philly shows of today.
