Some type of a "Top Trumps" set. These were generally made for the European market, but would make their way into department and toy stores over here to.

I'd compare them to Sportscaster cards, but they were more playing card sized instead.

Based on the back design, I'd say late 70's, early 80's or so.

They would make decks of them for just about any type of subject...sports or non-sports, though the sports covered would generally be more international type sports (Racing, Soccer, Olympics, etc..)

They generally come in decks of about 32 or so cards.
