You don't have to be amazed anew, because I won't argue against his induction, but Minnie's HoF case hardly rests solidly on his career "statistics". His 11-year run (1951-1961) was excellent, but doesn't create a lay-down hand. The fact that his early (pre-1951) years were diminished due to the lingering color barrier, combined with his role integrating baseball and the Chicago White Sox, makes him an attractive candidate and will hopefully get him in shortly.
