Found this heavy flannel jersey this weekend along with a couple football jerseys.
Will post all of them later.

All of the branches fielded teams at the unit-level depending upon operational necessity, time and location. The GoldSmith-labled jersey that you are showing is from 1944-45 and was worn by members of the USS New Jersey (BB-62) baseball team when they were in port where games could be played.

I have many service baseball uniforms and jerseys from Marines, Army, Army Air Forces, Navy and Coast Guard teams from pre-war, WWII and into the 1950s along with equipment, ephemera and and an extensive vintage photograph collection.

With more than 500 major leaguers and 3,000 minor leaguers serving during the war, many of them found their ways onto unit teams at one point during the war.
