Hmm...

Most of the contributors to this particular section of Net54 either have or have owned far more "advanced" collectible cards than what I am going to list, but this is where I was at as a collector.

Over the years I have owned and let slip away:

1951 Bowman Mays, purchased for 9.50 in December of 1975, it was in fair to good condition.

1954 Topps Aaron purchased for 7.50 in early 1976, but I bought it intending to sell it to the person who I helped at card shows.

A salesman sample flipbook of the 1952 Star Stickers with Jackie Robinson on the front, I used it as a part of a trade for the 68 Clemente 3D I needed for my collection.

Lots of Clemente cards as he was my favorite player. They included autographs, Kahns, Bazookas, the 68 3D, a super clean 62 Sugardale, the original artwork for the 72 Kellogs 3D, and many Topps test issues. I broke up the collection throughout 1991 when I decided to leave the hobby.

Display boxes: 1951 Topps Red Backs, 1959, 1960, 1961 (baseball and football), 1962, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, and 1970. They all disappeared in a burglary in 1989, but strangely no cards were taken.

My complete sets of Topps Football 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, and 1975 along with my Topps Basketball sets for 1971-72, 1972-73, 1973-74, and 1974-1975. I also had partial sets in both football and basketball. All I can say is they went to a person who appreciated them more than I did back in 1976 (I literally gave them all away.)

My 1971 Kellogs 3D Football set and a group of 120 1962 Post Football where each card was cut perfectly and included a number of the hard to get singles. I owned these a decade after getting rid of my first collection.

In 1973 as a 12-year-old I bought a group of 1968 Topps Baseball series 1 and 2 for the princely sum of $5.00. I remember having multiples of the Mays and the Ryan. A few years later they were gone.

Working in a card store I was able to purchase an unopened box of 1986 Fleer Basketball for $25 and a complete set with stickers for about $15. I sold them both in 1991 for a good profit, but now...

The only vintage sets I completed way back when over 30 years ago were the 1959 and 1971 Topps Baseball sets. When I walked away from the hobby in 1991, I sold both sets.

To assemble my 1953 Bowman Color and my post-1970 Topps Baseball sets, I had to sell my Topps Heritage Baseball Master sets. I really miss the 2006 and 2008 versions and wished that I had held those two back.
