Some quick examples I just pulled from the internet. Shows the popular baseball "boater’s" hats of the 1870’s, the double buckle athletic belts and bib-front jerseys. Of course the short sports ties were popular from the 1870’s and into the 1880’s, as can be seen even in the Old Judge series of cards. The long dark pants were popular just before the knicker style took over. Players would often tie the bottom of the pant leg prior to playing to prevent tripping. Also, these three guys are dressed absolutely identical in their team uniforms.
