100% this. My 10x loupe is my best tool for looking at '33 Goudeys by far. The original halftone dots are very distinctive, and reprints are equally distinctive. Agree with Derek that the green lettering on the back may be the quickest way to tell.

As to why someone would do this to reprints, it could be practice for doctoring more expensive cards ( like the many Ruth reprints on Ebay). But most likely they are genuine.
