There were many mid-tier HOFers who had crazy prices compared to historic - Evers, Keeler, Tinker, Chance, Brown, Joss, Jennings, Bender, Waddell, Walsh. It seems that currently, even the lesser HOFers are worth about $100/grade-number, with only a few exceptions (e.g., Huggins, Griffith, Wallace)
Well, let's just look at the T206 results:

Chance red portait $240
Chance yellow portrait $240
Evers Chi $216
Tinker hands on knees $216
Wallace portait $84, $54
McGraw hip $216
McGraw sweater $228
Bresnahan port $144
Breshahan bat $108, $66
Huggins mouth $204
Huggins portrait $114, $192
Jennings portrait $216
Crawford throw $228
Crawford bat $240
Marquard thighs $204, $108
Marquard port $270
Bender no trees $132
Bender trees $168
Bender port $216, $270
Beckley port $204
Baker $204 (twice) $216

Even Matty: a dark cap 1 sold for $540

I am not saying that prices were weak or bad, just that they were average for average cards. Don't get me wrong, I hope that my T206 collection continues to appreciate wildly; daddy needs a retirement plan. Just that the noise over some spectacular prices on some superstars does not translate to spectacular prices on everything.
