Default 1880s Early Baseball Pencil Boxes. Great condition and Rare!

Just a heads-up on a cool pairing of 1880s Pencil Boxes. These are extremely tough to find, especially in this nice condition. These are being offered by Love of the Game Auctions, and so far there are no bids. The minimum bid amount is just a fraction of their worth...

The first one depicts an early game scene with Pillbox Hats, Gloveless Fielders and Victorian era Ladies in the stands. The affixed label shows typical minor wear, but is easily in the top 10% of surviving examples.

The second one is designed as a period 3-part Ring Bat... very similar to a Bat you might see on an Old Judge Card. It is hollow inside, to accommodate pens and pencils. The 3 pieces still fit together firmly and securely, which is a minor miracle in itself. With no cracks or chips whatsoever, it's in nearly the same condition as it was 140 years ago.

Best of luck, and thanks for looking!
