Original 1930s Babe Ruth Advertising Piece
Presented is the main portion of the largest and most aesthetically pleasing Babe Ruth advertising piece ever made. Dating from the early 1930s, the dimensions of the offered section are 16" x 20", and feature the most sought-after spokesman of the time by companies who wished to promote and sell their products. This colorful presentation of Ruth in conjunction with Old Gold Cigarettes is the upper middle portion of a tri-fold sign, that even in its current state, is a superb rarity sure to highlight any collection. Technically the offered specimen grades at about Very Good to Excellent due to a very light 4" vertical crease originating from the top edge which does not break surface, nor does it intrude upon the central image in any way. The right edge of this behemoth display exhibits minor evidence of staining, most likely from moisture but is not a hindrance and is mentioned for complete accuracy only. Totally original and free of any attempt at restoration, the offered showpiece makes for a fine collectible display and conversation piece.
