Default FS: 1894 Wilbert Robinson Telegram re: Baltimore Orioles & Temple Cup

SOLD: 1894 Western Union telegram sent to Baltimore Orioles captain Wilbert Robinson, with congratulations to him and the team on their participation in the Temple Cup, which the NY Giants won. I believe the last of the 1894 Cup games was played on October 9th, and the telegram was sent on the 10th. The telegram is sent c/o team secretary Herman Van Der Horst, and is sent from Nick Engel, owner of the Home Plate restaurant/saloon in NYC, which is another nice bit of baseball history.

Condition is good for an item that was likely folded up and shoved in a pocket some 120-odd years ago.

Size is approximately 5-1/4" x 7-7/8"

Not too many items out there relating to the Temple Cup, and this is a good one!

Price: SOLD

PM or email with interest.

Thx,
Ray
