FS: 1908 Type 1 Photo of Red Sox pitcher Elmer Steele, by Louis Van Oeyen. The photo came from Steele's estate and has been signed and dated in ink by Van Oeyen!
Truly beautiful image with excellent contrast and clarity. Print is in good condition with edge chipping. See Scans. Steel wrote the notes in the margins, likely at an advanced age. The photo was taken at League Park, Cleveland (not Hot Springs, AR --- likely Steele was mixing this up with spring training).
Early Van Oeyen stamp on reverse.
Image size is just under 5" x 7", and the photo overall is about 7.5" x 9.5".
