I have mine flat on shelves sorted by year. After June 1943 they sit in the lids of file storage boxes (with on end flattened). Prior to July 1943 I use two thick styrofoam boards from the art store to separate years (If I need to get to a year, I use the boards above and below to move the entire year, because the larger sized older issues tend to be more fragile to move.

PS - my entire collection would be for sale for a reasonable offer (1000+ larger sized issues, 3000+ after the size change on July 1, 1943)
