Mazeroski and Stargell both had a hit. 8/11/71 Dock Ellis goes the distance again out dueling the 1971 Cy Young Award winner Fergie Jenkins 3-2. Hall of Famers Santo and Clemente had a hit, and Stagell had two. 8/13/71 the Bucs were shut out by the Cardunals 2-0. Ted Simmons had 3 hits for the Cards. 8/15/71 Cards win again 6-4 Simmons and Clemente each had a hit. Willie Stargell had three hits to including two homers. 9/3/71 saw the Expos beat the Bucs 6-4 despite Clemente's four hits. 9/18/71 Steve Blass shuts out the Mets 4-0. Mazeroski contributed a base hit and Clemente had two. 9/19/71 the Mets turned the tables and defeated the Pirates 5-2. Clemente had three hits in the losing effort.
