All images presented have been crafted from brand new scans of original glass plate negatives shot by press photographers during the 1930’s. These negatives originated from The Sun, a daily Manhattan paper that sent the photographers out on assignment to shoot players as they came through the NY ballparks early in the season.
Every attempt was made to show the entire image captured on the negs without cropping. Once our scans were created, images were then professionally restored by our graphic artist and any scratches, dust, fingerprints were removed - the results are nothing short of spectacular! These are museum quality pieces, NOT cheap reproductions.
Several of our images were used in 1972 for TCMA's "The 1930's" but have never been seen in this size or quality. In addition, all images are from the same collection of negatives used to create "The 1930's" but the images have never been seen by the public until now:
