Two factors are causing the reason. First, eBay listings are down, at least for the items in my watchlist. Normally, there are multiple listings for the cards that I watch. I’ve noticed that there are only a few examples listed. It appears the supply is down. I suspect that sellers fear this is a soft market and are trying to weather the storm.
Secondly, quarantined individuals can only watch so much tv before boredom sets into them. Old habits die hard. They shop or at least window browse.
The conclusion is that more eyes are now watching fewer cards.
