I agree 100%.
But also remember that the type and color of ink will also in some ways affect fading with or without UV glass. That being said red sharpie will eventually fade out, black sharpie will eventually yellow, blue sharpie is safest along with silver and gold paint type sharpies. Granted the fading out of red and yellowing of black will take some time to occur.
About your bats all I can suggest is check Amazon for bat racks if you want to display all 5 in one rack or maybe custom make one with UV protection OR display them as 5 single bats in 5 single bat cases with UV protection which are available. But the same rules will apply to the bats as to the photos.
