All it's going to take is one of the powerful (among players) player speaking out forcefully against it and that will be the end of this particular plan. Trout, KB, even Alonso coming out strong "no" will sink it. Won't even need to advance to covid-19 testing phase.

Let's go full speculation and hypothesize that the 2020 season is called off. I don't want that, you don't want that, but I also don't want to live in denial. The hard fact is that it's a possibility. At some point the players are going to have valid arguments to call it off for health and career statistic reasons. Owners could argue they don't want to risk injuring their big-money guys (especially pitchers) for three months of doubleheaders with few days off. I know they could expand the rosters, but realistically most of the guys who are on the 26-man do not want to be competing for spots under such unprecedented circumstances.

And after another terrible Astros ruling by Manfred today, we know for sure there are some players who do not want the 2020 season to take place.
