Default Holy Schmidt????

I ran across this Mike Schmidt card today on ebay, and it jumped right out at me. Not because it's a PSA 10 beauty...but because Schmidtty (wouldn't that be a more accurate spelling of his moniker?) is wearing someone else's uniform. It's #37, not his celebrated #20. What in heck is going on here??? It's a 1983 card, so I checked out who wore that number in 1982, and it was Stan Bahnsen. The name on back clearly doesn't end in an 'N' (it's probably a 'G'?), so he's out. A few quick searches didn't provide any info. Does anyone know what this is all about? There isn't a lot of information in the picture itself, but it's possibly a spring (heck, let's just wear whatever shirt is available) training game...although his long sleeves may belie that.

Whoa!!! Update as I write this. I checked the 1981 Phils roster, and guess who wore the number that season? Ryne frickin' Sandberg. Didn't even realize that 'Ryno' got his (short) start in Philadelphia, with his first appearance coming in September. That's a kinda cool end to the mystery of the who part, but kinky locker room sex jokes aside, why is Mike wearing the 'wrong' jersey???

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
