That would be the team that beat Palmer in Game 3 when he yielded 4 earned runs in 6 innings of work. To put that in perspective, during the 1969 regular season, the Mets were ninth out of 12 NL teams in runs scored.
I like Palmer, and the fact he was generally better than Hunter year after year but didn't get the recognition he deserved. But I don't think he was a front-line money pitcher if you needed one game.
