Both are obviously from the same original series (guessing early 1950s). Pretty strong price realized for the Browns Pennant. I had posted mine here a couple weeks ago and at that point, had never seen another. Then a week later, this one came along, and sold for $521.
The Boston Braves Pennant was a steal at $109, IMO. I would've definitely bid higher, had I not already had this one. I think I have now seen this pennant 3 times (in 3 decades of collecting). So someone got a very nice buy.
Does anyone else here have other pennants to show, from this unique series? The flared and stylized font and eclectic artwork seem to be the common threads. I have no idea how many teams were represented, but would love to see some others. Apparently this series never went into mass production, given the scarcity today. |
That particular seller gets some nice stuff.
