For anyone who knows the audio version of the book, one of the more famous stories revolves around Larry Ritter gojng to the Polo Grounds, which was at that time in disrepair, and taking a piece of sod from centerfield and sending it to Fred Snodgrass. Ritter then says that he received a response back from Snodgrass telling Ritter that he had planted the sod in his yard and that it had started to grow.
This is that very letter where Snodgrass tells Ritter about the sod in his yard. An important piece of Glory of Their Times history, the letter also has mention of contemporary baseball as well.
